Tammy,
You were related by blood to Uncle George as he and your great grandmother were half brother and sister for they had the same mother but different fathers.
This Benjamin Pearson/Elizabeth Ellen Allis ancestery has had me stumped for years. Do you know anything about Benjamin other than what was on the 1850 census and his marriages to Elizabeth and Mrs Eliza Barber? I have not been able to find Benjamin, Eliza, Mary E., or any of the Barber children in 1860. Edwin Barber does marry later in Morgan Co. Mary E. and Shadrack Canham married there in Aug 1859.
Since in 1880 Mary E. had her mothers place of birth as Ohio, guess the answer lies there or in TN. There were 6 Allis HOH in 1820 OH. One of them Thomas may be the same Thomas Allis that was married in KY c1800. Can't find any of my notes on KY. Have had no luck under the Allis surname. Now am beginning to wonder if Allis could have been a married name as Elizabeth was at least 25 when she married Benjamin. Any ideas?
