Hello George CANDY and his siblings belong to an entirely different branch of the Candys back in England. As you say, George was a son of Alexander, who was born in Breamore, Hampshire, England on 25 October 1836. He was the ninth of ten children born to Charles CANDY and his wife Mary (nee DOVE) who had married (also in Breamore) on 10 February 1814. Charles was born (or maybe baptised) at Breamore on 15 April 1792, the thrid and youngest child of Edward CANDY and his wife Jane WEST, who married at Fordingbridge Hampshire on 3 May 1785. Edward (born about 1747, buried 14 August 1827) had been married previously, and so there are other children from his earlier marriage to Mary DOWNER (who died in 1783). I hope this additional information will be helpful to someone. Kind regards Philip Candy London (England) Notify Administrator about this message?
