Hi Jonathan,
Today I went to the City Cemetery Office which is under the management of Derry City Council, and the staff at the office were very helpful in unearthing information.
The following members of the Candy family are buried in plot CC38.
James Norbert Candy died 7th July 1898, age 11 1/2. Residence at time of death, BNCR Railway Station, Derry. Place of birth, Derry.
Mary Candy ( wife of James) died 4th April 1916. Residence at time of death, Waterside Station (presumably BNCR) Derry. Place of birth, Portrush. Maiden name Gribben. Age 54 years.
Mary Candy, died 28th October 1918. Residence at time of death, Station House , Waterside, Derry. Born Belfast. age 28 years.
James Candy, died 7th August 1925, Residence at time of death, Clooney Terrace, Derry. Born Coleraine. Age 67 years.
Joseph Phelim Candy, died 13th March 1960. Residence at time of death, 37, Pembroke Street. Dublin. Born Derry. Age 64 years.
Elizabeth Browne, died 1st December 1964. Residence at time of death, 20, Westbrae, Paisley, Scotland. Born Derry. Age 61 years.
Dorothey Ita Pat Candy, died 27th November 1968. Residence at time of death, 72, Willow House, Sussex Road, Dublin. Born Derry. Age 64 years.
The General Register Office of Northern Ireland would be able to supply you with a copy of Mary Gribben Candy's death certificate which should have details of her parents names.
Although the Derry residence at time of death addresses vary slightly it would appear that this was caused by different people completing the enteries. The BNRC station was located on the Waterside of Derry .
Best of luck in your search. Anne
