There are many people with the last name Candelaria from the Pueblo of San Felipe, NM and perhaps in other pueblos as well.
I don't know how far back the surname goes for the pueblo people, but I have always assumed that it was given to us by the early Spaniards that occupied this area. Every Feb. 2nd we have a feast day in honor of everyone with the name, or variations of, Candelaria.
