Hi Lisa,
My mom told me that Irene was always well dressed and put together. She was taller than my mother who is 5'3. I remember her as a blond, who wore sunglasses and kerchiefs, and rather glamorous.
Interesting you should mention red head. My father's grandmother was a natural red head, as was one of her daughters, my great aunt Anna Gerena, who was more of a strawberry blond. Red hair highlights are very strong in my family, my brother Mike as a baby had dark copper hair, I have strong red highlights, and my brother Mike's daughter Serena has gorgeous, natural reddish hair. Remember, my grandmother and Irene were related, so this may explain the red hair thing that seems to run in both our families.
Also you need to know that my dad was never adopted by Irene or ever lived with her and his father. She didnt do right by her own boys, never mind her husband's bastard child.
