variant spelling Ganavan?

has anyone heard of a variant spelling of Ganavan (or Ganevin)?

I am researching my ancestor Patrick Fitzpatrick who married a Mary Ganavan (both born in Ireland, and emigrated to Massachusetts sometime before 1844 (I don't know if they married in Ireland or in MA)).

Patrick and Mary's son Thomas Bernard Fitzpatrick was born Dec 1844 in Grafton or Westboro, MA, co-founded the Brown Durrell Co in Boston in 1872, married Sarah Mary Gleason in 1876, died 1919 in Brookline. He is my great-great-grandfather.

A basic search on Google doesn't give me much of anything on the name Ganavan or Ganevin (another spelling of the same name?) -- can anyone help me out with info on what the name means, if it's a translation of an Irish Gaelic name, where the family was from.......

thanks in advance!
