Hi Kay, Seen your second posting The following Catherine Canavans went to the US. This info is from the www.ellisisland.org web site 1. Catherine Canavan 1902 23 2. Cath Canavan 1904 60 3. Catherine Canavan Chicago, Ill. 1913 65 4. Catherine Canavan Liverpool, England 1919 36 5. Catherine Canavan Galway, Ireland 1920 20 6. Catherine Canavan Galway, Ireland 1920 29 7. Catherine Canavan Coalisland, Ireland 1924 21 You catherine is certainly not the last one no 7. She was my aunt and I know all about where she was etc. At first site it would appear that she isn't listed, however sometimes ages were falsified and the point of departure was quite commonly Liverpool or Glasgow, the person having crossed to england on the ferry. From this second information set the birth certificate would probably give you an address in Dungannon. You should also be able to find the death fo Catherine's mother by searching the Mormon films of the indexes to the registers. Further, the 1901 Census for NI has already been released and filmed by the Mormons so you could ask someone to do a lookup on the Tyrone mailing list. This link will take you to the Rootsweb page of lists available for genealogical purposes.(locations, names) http://lists.rootsweb.com/ I am very interested in this now as my next furthest back Canavan is a Joseph b 1823. Names often run in families so there might be a link. Keen to hear how you got on Mike
