Do you have any other info about your Canavan forbears? What was Catherine's maiden name?
I know of at least 3 families of Tyrone Canavans. Two of them were not related, but the unrelated Canavan men married two Quinn sisters Mary and Catherine. Mary is my grandmother. Catherine (d 1949) did not go to USA though many of her siblings and possibly her descendants did. However, and surprisingly there are no other Catherines in that family tree!
do you know any placenames / townlands etc?
Any other links or clues might help.
Canavan was also spelt Cannavan.
I am in UK but in regular contact with cousins in NIreland.
Do you have any Blair links, as they are also involved with the Canavans.
I hope we can find some links
