This is a two point answer. The first is I have also heard the rumors,folklore, or history on Benito Canales and from my families side know buddy really has an answer but it has been passed down from generations. My spanish teacher was from chihauhau Mexico and she said as a child she too had heard the stories and sang the songs.
THE SECOND IS; My family is also from Cucamonga and as of now my family and many cousins live in Fontana. Everyone seems to be from the San Bernardino area. But to top it off I have many relatives in Fresno also. SO Paula we may be cousins. Any let me know if your interested and I can give you some more info , or any one else who has anything.
