Dear David,
You have a problem in isolating the particular Family C/A or Crest due to the wanderlust nature of the clan. There is a "House" of Canal/Canals/Canales in every Provience of Spain and some in Portugal. All
bear similar Crests, yet there are differences. I picked up the registered Crest
copy of the Canals family in Reus on a visit there. Since that time I have been convinced
that the Canales clan is all one large scatterment of the same family with its roots in a site known as "El Lugar de Canales", Murias de Paredes, Leon. Quintana del Monte, Barrios de Saldana, Almanza y Cea.
