Hi Alice, you might want to try contacting the people on the RSL site (Rootsweb Surname List) who are listed as researching GEHL. The address is: http://rsl.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/rslsql.cgi
type in the surname GEHL for the name and you will see 4 people listed as research the GEHL name 3 of which are for Canada and one of those for Ontario. Click on the name tag at the end of their entry and you will be taken to a screen showing their email address. Also list the names you are researching - I've had a lot of luck through this site. You never know, one of them might be related or maybe be able to give you leads.
Also, Preston is in Waterloo County in Ontario. Maybe try the Waterloo GenWeb site located at: http://www.geocities.com/fahidy/index.htm
You might find something to help you in there.
I tried the OCFA (Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid) at: http://www.islandnet.com/ocfa/search.html
and entered GEHL and found the following:

It might be worth trying to contact the cemetery to see if they have more info to know if these are your people.
