Please help!
I am an Englishman trying to trace my Canadian Grandfather (Chester Olson who I guess now would be in his late 60’s 70’s?), both for my Mum and myself. My Nan has been stubborn in helping, for some reason probably only known to her. The only things my Mum and I know are:
My Nan met this chap towards the end of the Second World War, and they both lived at 4 Hinde Street in Lancashire (then Miss Janet Gillon), where (before or after he left), my Nan had my mum. He came from Saskatchewan, Canada where either he or his family lived on a Farm. The only other thing we can find out is that he had a sister who had a baby boy who drowned in a water butt at the age of 18 months.
I hope you can help as my Mum would love to see her Dad, and I would like him to come to my Wedding this year if at all possible – it would be a great opportunity to meet.
