I am seeing information on the families of two McLeod brothers who emigrated from PEI to Sask. in the 1880s:

SAMUEL: Born 1852, Lot 67, PEI. Married Elizabeth Biggar in 1874 in PEI and had three sons. They all moved to Winnipeg in 1881, then on to Prince Albert about 1883. He became an influential business man (real estate and Insurance) and politician in PA. Was Mayor in 1886, member of NWT Legislature in 1889 town councillor in 1894/95 and Mayor again in 1919. He died in 1929.

MALCOLM J. was born about 1871 in PEI. He joined Samuel in PA abt 1890. In 1893 he moved to Moose Jaw and operated a clothing store under the name of MJ McLeod & Co. He merged with Hamelin to form McLeod -Hamelin which had several branches. In 1901 he was President of the Moose Jaw Board of Trade. He was the member of several other civic organzations. He married Jeannette McPherson of Boston in 1902. They moved to Winnipeg in 1912 and he sold his business to Walter Joyner. He died in Winnipeg about 1935.

I'd like to hear from anyone who has information on these men and their descendants. Happy to share other informationI have on them.

Brian Cox
