Hi Teena,

I found the following at: http://www.mytown.ca/saskatchewan/towns/lafleche/index.htm

"The Town of Lafleche is located in south-central Saskatchewan, 140 km southwest of Moose jaw and 80 km north of the US border. The town is named after Louis Francois Richer Lafleche who was missionary among the Metis hunters of the plains. Lafleche was established at its present site in 1912. The town is presently populated by people of various ethnic origins, with those of British backgrounds representing the largest group. The town is located in a very good grain-growing area with the soil being of the brown to clay-loam type. To the south of Lafleche, mixed farming and ranching predominates."
