Lac Laronge,Saskatchewan, Who settled?

Does anyone know who and when Lac LaRonge,Saskatchewan was settled? My gg-grandfather Adolph LaRonge was born here about 1825 and emmigrated to Wisconsin about 1840-45. We're pretty sure he took the name 'LaRonge' as a 'dit' which was an exasperating custom back then especially with the French. This means his actual surname is probably lost forever. However, he married a Sophie Goki(Gauthier?)from a place called Inconnus? Sophie was full-blooded Chippewa and we think Adolph was at least part Indian.
He and Sophie settled in Flambeau,WI where thier 3 children were born; Adolph II, Louise, and Joseph. Eventually, they moved to
the Lac Courtre Orielles Reservation in Sawyer Co.,WI. Adolph died after 1888.
I'm looking for any history on Lac LaRonge and researching the names LARONGE/GOKI(Gauthier)and LOZON.
Thank you
