Annie - Thanks for the info although I agree, I don't think he is my Thomas. I talked to my cousin over the weekend & he said that the "family" (Lambert) had founded the town of St. Lambert which is across the river from Montreal. This location makes more sense of everything I have ever heard regarding location. I have looked at the St. Lambert website but cannot find any history of the town's founding other than 2 permanent residents in the early 1840's or so. Guess I'll just have to keep searching. Thanks anyway for your input.
