Hi Nora As far as baptismal and other records, it is always mentioned if they where born the same day or sometimes 2 days prior or so on.Same for deaths. Newborn where baptized at the church, if a child is not baptized and dies it is believed that he goes in Limbo wich is a state of suspense in Purgatory, So people in those days would take the child as soon as he was born, bring him to the church(during normal business hours) and have him baptized, this was the duty of the godparents wich explains why on many records the father is absent.
