Possible Native Ancestors

An Aunt informed me she'd heard we had a female Indian ancestor. Her father, Joseph Mederic Mailhot, was my grandfather. I have come up with one possible lead.
My ggrandfather, Antoine Mailhot was married to Marie Tancrelle/Tancrede. Antoine was a son of Basile Mailhot/Maillot and Marie Carette. Marie's mother was Genevieve Ducat. When Genevive died, she was buried in Oka, Quebec. Could her burial place be a clue? I know there were Douquets married to natives but I'm not sure if there is a connection to the name "Ducat". I thought they might be variations of the same name. I have also heard that a Houde married a native person. Another ancestor of mine was Genevieve "Houle" Houde-Desruisseaux. Again, I don't know of there is a connection.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
