I am currently researching a Johnston(e) branch of my ancestors and have recently followed one of them forward to a MacIntyre family in Montague - perhaps my line links up with yours. I am currently at the family of Wallace Darius MacIntyre who married Penelope Johnstone, daughter of David Barclay Johnstone of Montague. His father was William Johnstone, from Ross & Cromarty, Scotland, who was a 42nd Black Watch Royal Highlander who fought with Wellington during the Napoleonic War.
Wallace and Penelope's children that I discovered so far include William W, Flora G. and Lillian. You can usually tell if you have a William Johnston(e) descendant line if the names "Wellington, Montague, John Moore, Barclay, Flora, Minnie, Isabella or William" show up in the family. This practice dies out by the early 1900s, unfortunately.
Can you tell me if this is the line you've traced Della's line back through? If so, maybe we can share some info. I may come across some info on Della, if I keep following my MacIntyre line.
