Marriages up to 1924 and death registrations up to 1934 are available from the Archives of Ontario.Events after these dates are restricted and you must prove you are next-of-kin.You can inter-library-loan these from the Archives of Ontario to your local library. They are also available at or thru local LDS (Mormon) Family History Centres. You have to search the Index microfilm for the registration year and registration number AND then search the actual registrations for that number in that year. This means two ILLs, (1) index and (2) registration.

However… unrestricted Ontario BMD registrations have recently been downloaded on Ancestry.com.You can search on Ancestry and view images of the actual registrations on-line.

You can buy a 1 month membership for $14.95 CDN or a 14 day - 10 record - Pay-Per-View for $5.95 CDN.For the difference in price, I think a month’s access is better, since you never know how many leads you will want to follow up on.
If M.I. is monument inscription, you will have to contact the Leeds & Grenville Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society…

But know that this microfilm may not be the most recent date of transcriptions.
Once you get a date, you might also want to follow up with obits published in the Gananoque newspaper.
