Eileen,Are you a relative? My purpose of the posting was to advise unknown relatives about my grandfather's recent passing.Incidentally, I know nothing about geneology searching. But since you were curious, I will add some info: Jacob and Magelene Shantz (Schantz?) were parents of Emma, my great grandmother. You are correct: Emma was born 9/2/1881. Emma actually had three sisters and four brothers: Esther (nicknamed Hattie), Fannie, Selina, Emanuel, Ananias, Addison and Nathan. They were born on the family farm near Breslau, Ontario, Canada. They were members of a Mennonite community, whose ancesters migrated from Penssylvania to Ontario, Canada, and settled in and around the town of Kitchener, some time between 1770 and 1850. (I am paraphrasing this info from a biography written by my grandfather's sister, Helen.)Some time after 1901, Hattie married Rob Lyness and moved to North Dakota.Emma soon followed and decided to stay in North Dakota.Emma married Frank Schroeder in 1909.
