The source for those marriages is Thomas Wilson's Ontario Marriage Bonds.From his introduction:
fb = fellow bondsman
In the majority of bonds, the groom was not actually a party to it in that the bond was issued to two others of his acquaintance, who are the bondsmen. In these instances, only the bondsmen signed at the bottom, not the groom.Where "fb" (fellowbondsman) is indicated, it is to be understood in each case that the groom was also one of the bondsmen although this is not specifically stated in the abstracts presented here. It should be noted then, that the brides did not sign in any of the bonds nor the grooms in most of them, thus leaving the recording of their names to the vagaries of spelling of the clerks.
