CITY'S CARETAKER KILLED IN SHAFT
Elevator Starts Unexpectedly and Crushes Head
Hamilton -- July 14 -- George Mullins, 69 (could be 63), caretaker of the Hamilton city hall, was instantly killed late this afternoon when the elevator which he was helping to repair started unexpectedly and crushed his head between the floor of the car and the top of the basement door.
Sorry for the graphic reporting, but that's the way it was back then. Unfortunately, no children named in the Star article.
