"George Reynolds" families mix up in Ontario, Canada

I see many people are mixing up two Reynolds families in Lennox and Addington and Frontenac Counties in Ontario, Canada.

George Reynolds was born 1863 in Portland, Frontenac County, son of William Edward Reynolds and Aurilla Grant. He died April 27, 1926 at Portland. George was married three times.

On Dec. 24, 1884 he was married to Elizabeth Burch who died July 26, 1887 at Portland. Have not found children for them.

About 1887-1888 to Mary Asselstine, by whom he had two sons Elnathan Atkinson Reynolds known as Sperry, born 1889, and Frederick William Reynolds born 1890.

Mary died Feb. 24, 1897.

George then married Nettie Agnes DAVY, daughter of Benjamin Davy and Elizabeth Storey. No known children.

George Reynolds' wife Nettie nee Davy re-married Oct. 13, 1927 to Albert Babcock. I have a date of death for Nettie as Nov. 30 1934 but have not yet confirmed it through Ontario deaths.

The OTHER George Reynolds was Frederick George Reynolds born 1866 at Odessa in Lennox County to George Isaac Reynolds and Sarah Yole. Frederick G. married Angenette (Nettie) Hartman June 17, 1896 at Odessa. She was the daughter of Lewis Hartman and Elizabeth Burley. Frederick G. and Nettie appear to have had two children, a son George Everton Reynolds born 1897 and Lena or Leta born about 1901. Frederick G. Reynolds died May 6, 1920 in Kingston, Ontario of TB. His wife Nettie died June 23, 1930 in Kingston.

I sure wish people would do their homework before posting family groups at Ancestry.com. This means checking birth records, checking marriage records, and death records, and census's, and so on for correct information. I see thousands and thousands of errors, families pieced together willy nilly- what a nightmare it has all become.

If anyone wants more information about the Reynolds persons above, please contact me directly or post here.

Nora
