Ontario Land Records
Posted by: Shannon Cairns (ID *****3114) Date: August 03, 2012 at 15:44:55

I am hoping someone can explain to me a little bit about the Ontario Land Records. What I know is that my relations are listed on the Abstract Index for Deeds for the area where they lived in King Township, York County.

In the Abstract index for Deeds there are a number of instruments on which they are shown as either the grantor or grantee. Are these instruments available on microfilm and if so where would I start to look if I have document numbers, for things such as mortgages, B & S, etc.?

Thanks to whomever can clarify for me how the land record system works for Ontario.

Regards,

Shannon Cairns
