The husband of my great-great Aunt died in 1890 from what is described in his obituary as a "disease caused by working over an emery stone and inhaling the dust"....it apparently resulted in the removal of many of his facial bones (a surgery I don't even want to contemplate!). Does anyone have any information on what type of industry would have used an emery stone in Queensville at this time? I'm trying to figure out what he did for a living. The only thing I can come up with is perhaps some type of stone carver. Thanks! Mary Notify Administrator about this message?
