Dear Carolyn,
Thank you very much for this posting, it is a huge help! For some odd reason, I didn't get this until after your Nov. 14 posting so I responded to that one first. As far as Mary Ann's maiden name, according to a Grimsby publication called Annals of the Forty, a history of well-known families in the area, it says that Samuel Shepherd married Mary Ann Broderick, so I'm pretty sure it is correct. As far as I.W. Shepherd's death certificate, I don't know where the informant got Nova Scotia from. Her death certificate said she was born in Dundas and all other death certificates say she was born in Beamsville, so her birthplace is tough to nail down. Anna Shepherd was born on Nov. 11, 1865 and died at age 81 on Dec. 4, 1946 in near Chicago in Cook Co., IL. I have a copy of Ada May Shepherd Phipps' death certificate which I got from Niag. Fls. city hall, she died on Jan. 8, 1935 at age 66 (born Dec. 31, 1868). Now I only wonder if there was a kid between Isaac and Anna, being that there was a five year gap. Once again, excellent info. that you gave me. Thanks.
