Actually, the DOB for Martha is kind of up in the air.On the 1861 Ontario census, it gives an estimate of 1848, but the 1920 California census shows a birthdate of February 1853.The 1848 date makes better sense, actually, which would make Mary Ann Jane the second daughter. The birthdates for the rest of the kids have been generally confirmed over the years from other sources.
There is also a BIG question about John Fletcher.Seems that at the same time "my" George and Sarah were living in Bruce County, there was ANOTHER George and Sarah Graham living in Middlesex County. Both families are on the 1861 census, and one of the children (Margaret Ann) I had long been including with the first G&S actually belonged to the second G&S.The dates for John Fletcher match the second George and Sarah more closely than they do for "my" G&S - hence, the BIG question - with which G&S does John Fletcher actually belong?
My George and Sarah, and the kids, moved to Omaha, Nebraska, in 1863.G&S parted ways sometime between then and 1869, and the kids seemed to have gone with different parents.
Alas, I can't find Mary Ann Jane or John Fletcher, nor can I find the eighth and ninth of the nine G&S originally had.
I think one of the missing two was named Caroline, b. 1860, and I have a feeling that she passed on as an infant or toddler.I sort of suspect the same about John Fletcher as well, particularly as I can find nothing about them in any of the American census after the family moved to Nebraska.
I thank you very much for the Baptismal information for John Fletcher. If the baptismal register is online, could you tell me where to find it?
