Would like to connect with Greenes living in Shubenacadie area and find out our genealogy pre 1810. My 3x great grandfather was Hugh Greene b. abt 1812 +/- at Grand Lake, Shubenacadie, m. Margaret Meagher (poss. from Ireland). Their son John was supposedly born at Grand Lake in approx. 1848/49. Since he had older siblings (Mary, Wm, Jane, and a younger sister named Charlotte) these children may also have been b. at Grand Lake area. By 1871 they lived in Dartmouth (Halifax Cnty). Hugh's father MAY have been Henry Greene m. to Jane Mc__?___ (McLaughlin, MCGriffith ?) We think there is a Black Watch or 84th Regiment of Foot connection to the family. Henry's father may have been James???? or John???? There is some reference in Truro Township book which may be the family. Thanks for any and all help.
