Starting Sept. 5, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.

www.novascotiagenealogy.com/ has John and Alfretta's marriage in 1881, that gives his parents as Gabriel and Mary (he is indexed as "Warden" rather than "Worden").

Also indexed under "Warden" is Mary Warden's remarriage to Andrew Fisher.

In 1881 Andrew and Mary are living together with I presume John in the household, even though "Alfretta" is going by "Sarah":

       Household:

Name        Marital Status        Gender        Ethnic Origin        Age        Birthplace        Occupation        Religion
Andrew FISHER         M         Male         English         60         Nova Scotia         Farmer         Baptist
Mary FISHERE         M         Female         English         55         Nova Scotia                 Congregationalist
Dennison FISHER                 Male         English         16         Nova Scotia         Farmerson         Congregationalist
Ellen May FISHER                 Female         English         10         Nova Scotia                 Congregationalist
John WORDEN                 Male         English         22         Nova Scotia         Carpenter         Congregationalist
Sarah WORDEN                 Female         English         24         Nova Scotia                 Congregationalist
Bessie WORDEN                 Female         English         3         Nova Scotia                 Congregationalist

Source Information:
Census Place        Canning, Kings, Nova Scotia
       Family History Library Film        1375809
       NA Film Number        C-13173
       District        17
       Sub-district        A
       Division        2
       Page Number        49
       Household Number        221

The birth of "Ellen May" is listed under Mary Ellen Fisher in 1870 and gives her mother's name as Mary Orinda Pines (looks like "Pines" to me, at least).

The son "Dennison" in 1881 is
David Dennison Fisher (mother listed as Mary Pines/Pineo at birth, definitely "Mary Pineo" on his death certificate).
