That is confusing! I think this may, possibly, be the family in 1880, although the wife's name is transcribed wrongly: Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Benjamin ROBINSON Self M Male W 40 NEW YORK Mason SCOTLAND NEW YORK Theressa ROBINSON Wife M Female W 37 ENGLAND Keeping House ENGLAND ENGLAND Willard ROBINSON Son S Male W 9 ILLINOIS At School NEW YORK ENGLAND Sussie ROBINSON Dau S Female W 7 ILLINOIS At School NEW YORK ENGLAND Francis ROBINSON Son S Male W 4 ILLINOIS NEW YORK ENGLAND Florence ROBINSON Dau S Female W 2 ILLINOIS NEW YORK ENGLAND Source Information: Census Place Chicago, Cook, Illinois Family History Library Film 1254186 NA Film Number T9-0186 Page Number 1B http://www.ilsos.gov/GenealogyMWeb/marrsrch.html - shows Benjamin G. Robinson married Clarissa Edwards, 1870 in Cook County. I guess if you looked at the original 1880 census image it might look like 'Clarissa' rather than 'Theressa'. There appears to be a Clarissa Edwards in the 1860 Chicago Ward 1, Cook County, IL census. I don't have access to the full info, but approx from index: Frank Edwards, 42, b. England Hannah, 54, b. England Clarissa, 16, b. England Jas M, 14 (not sure of birthplace, apparently not England). Notify Administrator about this message?
