I am the Group Administrator for the Hatcher DNA project, looking for male Hatchers from NFLD or NS willing to test.
We currently have matching DNA results for the following distinct Hatcher families:
1) Wm Hatcher, bn c1705 of PA. This is our largest family.
2) Francis Hatcher, bn 1830 Dorset, ENG to Minnesota, parents: Francis Hatcher-Elizabeth Kendle/Kendall
3) George Hatcher, bn 1808 ENG to NFLD, wife Grace. The surname Kendall also appears in this family.

It is possible, even likely, that all 3 of these families were from Dorset. Dorset has excellent online records at http://www.opcdorset.com/ for those interesting in searching them.

I should note that many state that there are no connections between the various Hatcher families of NFLD. I tend to question that, since our DNA testing has shown only 3 distinct Hatcher families over several years of testing. Testing is the only way to prove or disprove that belief.
