JUDGE is a rare surname in Newfoundland,so much so that ALL that I have been able to find and identify correctly over the past almost 200 years are related to me.
If you have the name Judge in your family,and connected to Newfoundland at any stage in history,please write to me.
My immediate Judges are from Point Verde,Placentia Bay,my mother's family. My great-grandfather was of course Judge,possibly Patrick, from Isle aux Valen.Placentia Bay.He married a Mi'Kmaq (MicMac) girl or other native American,about 1857,which meant my grandfather had half Indian features but with very blue eyes. I would really like to know more about this Mi'Kmaq lady and her husband.
Patrick Judge "disappears" from Isle aux Valen in maybe the early 1880's, and then a Patrick Judge appears at Tilt Cove on the other side of the island. Is this the same Patrick Judge?He became the first member of Sir William Coaker's Fishermen's Protective Union,and left the FPU a property with two houses when he died.
The sons of this Judge man and his Mi'Kmaq wife included Peter Judge of Red Island Judges,born 1858, Joseph Peter Judge,1865,who moved to Corner Brook(interestingly,not that far from Tilt Cove),and my own grandfather,William Patrick Judge,1870,who in 1895 married Mary Joseph Pike of Salmonier and started the Point Verde branch of the Judges.
Most of their children moved to USA as adults.Like to hear from their descendants.There was also a sister for my gf,named either Magdalen or Margaret,who married a man named Whelan. Possibly also a John Judge from Placentia Bay,a single man,who was washed overboard on the Grand Banks in 1891 could be a brother.

Seeking Mary Judge who married John Hicky at Red Island in 1837, Honora Judge and sister Bridget who moved to USA temporarilt in mid-1800,s,Honora later marrying and later being buried in Montreal.
