Hi again,

Back to the children of John and Agnes.

Elizabeth born bout 1868 - sent you what I found on her and husband Joseph Betts

James H born about 1863 - sent his marriage - will look for more

Mary - born about 1866 - having trouble with her so will try same trick as with Elizabeth and look for any Mary in 1891 census Quebec born about 1866 NFLD

I had no luck with this so I have no idea what happened to her.

So back to James

1901 SCHREIBER, ALGOMA, ON
ROBINSON
James , age 38, carpenter, born Feb. 15, 1863 NB (I guess it should be NFLD but shows NB)

Christina, age 35, wife, born Feb. 9, 1866 ON

Jessie S., age 7, daughter, born Dec. 3, 1893 ON

Rhoda M., age 5, daughter, born Jan. 25, 1896 ON

Edith, age 3, daughter, born Aug. 2, 1897 ON

Christina M., age 1, daughter, born July 16, 1899 ON

I checked births to see if this is the right James and it is - mother of children found is shown as Christina McLaren

Birth database has a son for them - William James born 1904.

I could not find the family in 1911 and cannot find them at all after the 1901 census. I tried looking at deaths in ON as well as marriages for the children but nothing - I suspect either I am not finding them for some reason such as spellings or because they moved away to ???

So back to the Betts family - Malcolm seems to have gone to US. He is in census there and in border crossing

Ssept. 23, 1923 he crossed from ON to Michigan - he was age 27, a furnace operator, born Montreal. Father Joseph living in Montreal

1930 PORT HURON, ST. CLAIR, MI
BETTS
Malcolm Mc., age 33, laborer, brass factory, born Canada both parents born Canada, immigrated 1923, married at age 23

Mary E., age 31, wife, born Canada father born England mother born Canada, immigrated 1923, married at age 21

Gordon Mc., age 9, son, born Canada both parents born Canada, immigrated 1923

Irene G., age 7, daughter, born Canada both parents born Canada, immigrated 1923

Thomas R., age 5, son, born MI both parents born Canada

******************

I looked for border crossings for the rest of the family. Mary is shown born Calumet, Quebec - her father is David Page of Calumet
