In Reply to: Mrs Sarah MACLEAN Loggieville, New Brunswick, Canada by James Craig of 4937

Loggieville is in Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., New Brunswick. in 1911, in Chatham Parish, there were Alec (MAY1857) and 'Saidie' (DEC1859), McLean. With them were stepchildren, William (MAY1886), Melvin (OCT1892), Laura (APR1894), Winfield (JUN1897) and Eva (MAY1899) Dealy. the implication is that this is Sadie's 2nd marriage. Also next door was Alward Dealy (DEC1881) and family. Also in Alex and Sadie's family was there son, David McLean (JAN1901) and grandchildren Edgar Craig (JAN1905), Hazel Craig (DEC1906) and Pearl Craig (AUG1908). This appears to be the right family so let's see where this leads.
Alexa McLean was likely married before as Mrs. Alexander McLean b. PEI ca. 1853, d. Loggieville 8JUL1899 age 46 years. Her husband was Capt. Alexander McLean.

SARAH (SADIE) KENNEDY (d/o Lewis and June Kennedy) b. Wallace Harbour, NS (or Moncton, Westmorland Co., NB) DEC1859, m. 1st Brampton, Pictou Co., NS 20SEP1877 WILLIAM DEALY (DALEY) (b. Stonehaven, Gloucester Co., (New Bandon (Parish?), Miramichi) NB (or Scotland) ca. 1848), s/o William and Mary Dealy; m. 2nd ALEX McLEAN (b. MAY1857).
Winfield David Dealy was the s/o William and Sarah (Kennedy) Dealy.
Children:
1st:
1. ALWARD DEALLY b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB 22DEC1880 (DEC1881 in 1911), d. 10APR1961, m. EVERETTA ANN TAYLOR.
2. SYBIL WINIFRED DEALY b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB ca. JAN1885, m. 22SEP1903 JAMES CRAIG (b. Nelson Parish, Northumberland Co., NB 31JAN1882 (ca. 1880), d. France 14SEP1917), s/o Thomas and Janet (Scott) Craig.
James was a widower when he enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Force in WWI in Valcartier, Quebec in 1914. He was a teamster and gave his next-of-kin as his eldest child, eight-year old William Edgar Craig of Loggiville. I do not find him readily in 1901 or 1911, but he is age 11 in 1891 in Newcastle Parish with his parents, Thomas (52) and Janet (45) Craig; and with siblings Lizzie (22), William (13), Annie (9), Janet (6) and Jane (4). Thomas was b. Scotland.
Thomas Craig and Janet Scott both lived in Richibucto, Kent Co., NB when they married 3NOV1864.
Children:
21. WILLIAM EDGAR CRAIG b. DEC1906.
22. HAZEL EILEEN CRAIG b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB 9DEC1906.
23. PEARL CRAIG b. AUG1908.
3. CLARA DEALY b. ca. 1885, m. _____ FLEMING.
Moved to Minto, Manitoba.
4. WILLIAM K. DEALY b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB MAY1886, m. LILLIAN (LILLIE) M. TAYLOR (b. SEP1891, d. 29JAN1922).
5. ROBERT MELVIN DEALY b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB 6OCT1892, d. 31DEC1945, m. BARBARA GROAT (b. ca. 1892, d. 18MAY1932).
6. LAURA DEALY b. APR1894.
7. WINFIELD DAVID (DAVID WINFIELD) McLEAN b. Loggieville, Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., NB 25JUL1896 (JUN1897 in 1911), m. BEATRICE JARDINE.
8. EVA DEALY b. MAY1899.
2nd:
9. DAVID McLEAN b. JAN1901.

It appears that Sarah (Sadie) (Kennedy, Dealy) McLean was James Craig's mother-in-law.

Thomas.
