Hello Thomas
My james Sherman sure is a mystery!!!
On his tomb stone it has james howard Sherman 1844-1908
he is burried in the Rockland cemetery in McAdam N.B. York county.
His wife sarah jane Douglas is still living at home with her parents howard & mary ann in 1871 and it has her age as 19
Then on 1881 census she is living with her husband james Sherman has her age as 27
Then the 1891 census is confusing it has her age as 49,I know and understand that the census are not always correct,it has her children on the 1881 census
walterc Sherman age 18
howard valentine Sherman age 13
mary ann Sherman age 12
mable Sherman age 5
it says something like district 13, religion Free Church
microfilm 30953-148101
I just learned that james Sherman had cancer of the face,my g aunt just told me about it last night,I still not know where he died, just know he died in 1908 burried in Rockland cemetery McAdam N.B.
And I have no idea when or where his wife sarah jane Sherman ( Douglas ) died.
I was always told that james Sherman was born U.S.A. and I not remeber which census said he was born U.S.A. but only on one of the census did I ever see it say that.
he suppose to be born dec,15,1844 but I have never had any luck finding it!!
