I have a possible connection to this family. My 4th g-grandfather, Joshua Huston, was born in New Brunswick, Canada on 31 Jan 1785. I just found a marriage record in the Register of Marriages in the Parish of St Stephen and St David (http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nbstjame/church/marr_ststephen_stdavid.pdf) that I think belongs to him:

Joshua Huston (St. Stephen) and Lydia Shiarman (St. Stephen) 02 Dec 1822 by Samuel Thomson, wit. Joel Scott and Dav. Woodcock.

He is also on the 1815 St. Stephen Tax List as "Joshua Hughston." I know that Joshua married Lydia W. Sherman of Islesboro, Waldo, Maine, USA, but I had no idea what she was doing in New Brunswick... until I saw this post. Many of her cousins were living in the area. Joshua and Lydia resided in Lincolnville, Waldo, Maine, died there, and are buried in French Cemetery on Lincolnville Beach. Lydia was Joshua's second wife and I am trying to find the name of his first wife, my 4th g-grandmother.

Lydia Sherman's father was Robert Sherman, brother of the aforementioned Calvin Sharman, and her grandfather was Valentine Sherman b. 4 Oct 1743 in Marshfield, Plymouth, Massachusetts, USA.

I'm just starting to sift through the New Brunswick records, so if anyone knows of another connection to the Huston/Hughston family, please let me know.
