Thanks, Suzanne,
I have some of this information but you have provided me with new leads.

I am trying to identify the Sherman - Colpitts interrelationships and so far have been able to verify only one. Your information gives me more leads to check out through census data and I appreciate your help.

I do have a mystery that I am trying to resolve. My Sherman ancestors passed down through the family to me a daguerreotype print of a portrait of one of my ancestors. On the back of the print is the photographer's name - T. R. Colpitts, who I have identified and located him in the Colpitts genealogy. I am hoping that perhaps a family member related to the photographer or a Sherman - Colpitts descendant can help me identify the person in the portrait.

Thanks for your leads.

Bill
