Darius Nelson Dickinson can be found in the on-line (not noted for its precision is spelling) version of the 1881 census of Canterbury Parish, York Co., New Brunswick. He is in the same household as his grandparents (Amos (ca. 1800) and Hannah (Ca. 1802) 'Dickenson'), his parents (John S. (ca. 1849) and Mary Jane (ca. 1849) Dickenson) as 'Daren N. Dickenson' b. ca. 1879.
Siblings were: Cora A. (10), Amelia (8), Ruth E. (6), Wilmot L. (4) and Frank N. (b. DEC1880.)
Several birth records give the children of John Saunders and Mary Jane (Stitham) Dickinson as:
Corey A. Dickinson b. Canterbury Parish, York Co., NB 4JUL1870
Wilmot L. Dickinosn b. Canterbury Parish, York Co., NB 30APR1876
Frank Alexander Dickonson b. Benton, York Co., NB 24MAY1889
Ilber Merrill (?) Dickinson b. Hartfield, York Co., NB 10NOV1898
Two of these appear in the 1881 census.
The Saint John, "Christian Visitor", edition of 28MAY1868 announces the marriage of John S. Dickenson of Howard Settlement, Canterbury Parish, York Co., NB by the Rev. Elisha C. Corey 30APR1868 to Miss Mary J, Stitham of the same place.
In 1901 (a census as liberal with its dates as the 1881 version is with its spelling), Darius (b. 21MAY1878), appears to be with his wife, Maggie R. (15JAN1879) and daughter, Georgia E. (10JAN1901) with his in-laws in a rather large household in Southampton Parish, York Co., NB. The household is headed by James N. and M. Jennie Lindsay; but there is also a Schriver family headed by George H. and Maggie L. Schriver., apparently Maggie's parents. 'Georgie' birth record gives her mother as Margaret Rosamond Schriver.
