Since, when she m. in Biddeford, York Co., ME 3FEB1876, as ‘Jane Halburt’and is noted in a Stackpole genealogy as:

“VHI. Orin b. Aug. 1850; m. Jane Halbert and lives in Biddeford, Me. They have children, Elizabeth, Frank, Howard, Rose and Morris.”

you may want to look at John (b. ca. 1836) and Eliza (b. ca. 1840) Halbert, also in Ward One, Biddeford, York Co., ME in 1880, in the very next household to Orin and Jane. Both were b. NB, although John’s parents were b. Maine. See:
http://files.usgwarchives.net/me/york/census/census/1880/ed181p02.txt
Jane seems often given as Jane Halbert.
On the other hand, I can find little trace of a surname, Halbert, in New Brunswick.
An alternative is the surname, Hébčrt; especially in what is now Madawaska Co., NB.

Thomas
