The person was Isaac B. Benson, born c1793, probable son of Seth Benson. Seth is known to have lived in the area north of Saint John around Kingston and Springfield, New Brunswick. I'm beginning to think the place name given was just a miscommunication or misspelling. The place name is taken from the death record of Isaac's son Augustus Benson. It stated "father's place of birth Gemalon Pt, NB" Since it is a couple of generations removed from the person who probably gave the info it's probably not a real place in NB.
