George, I don't have much info for you, but I did find the following in the QUEBEC DEATH INDEX (1926-1996):
HOWARD NOLAN, b. 1855.11.07, d. 1942.08.21. It is mentioned that he was residing in N.S. at the time of death. This may mean NORTH STANBRIDGE, Missisquoi County, QC, or NORTH SUTTON, , Brome County, QC, or NORTH STUKELY, Shefford County, QC

Another is HOWARD JOSEPH NOLAN, b. 1899.07.01, d. 1958.09.01 while residing in Montreal, QC.

No parents or spouses nor civil status is mentioned for the above.

There's THOMAS NOLAN, b. 1874.08.29, d. 1935.08.10 while residing in Montreal, QC;. No further info listed.

THOMAS NOLAN, b. 1858.03.02, d. 1936.03.02 (month & day of birth & death are the same so we may presume that's a mistake but can't tell which is the error, most probably the DOB) while residing in North Onslow, Pontiac County, QC. No further info is included.

Hope this helps you out a bit.
