Hello Marilyn:

Marriage records is one of the best ways of linking people to each other.

The best of establishing links amongst people is via their marriage records which in Roman Cath. churches did include the parents' names of the newlyweds.

So, I understand that Michael, son of Louis born in Canada, married Caroline Zastrow in Wisconsin. Michael's marriage record should indicate his parents' names; that include Louis' wife's name.

Then did Louis get married in USA or in Canada. His marriage record should indicate his parents' names.

Do your little bit of research and thereafter I should able to help with the Canadian Ancestry.

Keep in mind that trying to find the parents of a Louis Lamarre or Lemire born in Canada is a futile job. But if you have the names of his parents married in Canada (especially in Québec), it is an easy job.

bonne chance,

Jean-Marie
