GAREAU/MONET MARRIAGE CIR 1840
Posted by: Kristin Grow DeCare Date: May 31, 2000 at 04:48:16

I have been searching without success to find the births and marriage of a Joseph Louis Gareau (b cir 1825) and his wife Marie Louise Monet dit Boismenu (b cir 1815/20). In desperation I have decided to try the Montreal region. Canadian research is hard for me in the States because they moved around so much. I know it is hard because every male is Joseph and female is Marie, but that is all that I have. I know they have had ties to Ste Adele, St Jerome in Terrbonne, St Eustache, but cannot find a birth or marriage place for them. They migrated to Ogdensburg, St Lawrence County NY in the mid 1860s. They had 5 and possibly 7 children there before migrating. If you have lost track of this family or think you know something about them please feel free to e mail me direct as well as posting. I have been in contact with Jean Gareau and his association, but have had no luck so far as no one seems to be researching this family line but me. Thanks Kristin
