Montreal Hoopers

I am looking for information regarding my ancestors from Montreal. My g-g grandfather Frank Hooper supposedly came from Montreal with one brother and apparently 2 sisters. The story goes that another brother stayed in Montreal and was a cop. This was before 1880. He is listed with his wife Selma (Saliny) and his sisters living in Malone, NY in the 1880 census. I'm hoping to find any Hoopers that might have a family connection we can share. We have hit a brick wall trying to find info on Frank or his family. Please see my website for the full story:

Surnames covered are Hooper,Gonyea,Blair and Mousseau. Very eager to get some leads. Take care.
