Family called Tait in Montreal
Posted by: Jan Howard Date: August 25, 2001 at 04:26:06
  of 1963

Can anyone help me find a family called Tait?

I have been told that they are related to a George Willis from Meigle/Newtyle, Scotland and that the daughter of a relative of mine, Mr Proudfoot, used to write to them in Montreal.

As I am researching part of my family, particularly my gggrandfather, George Willis who married a Margaret Hamilton in 1840 in Meigle, Scotland. They had 4 sons, one went to live in Canada, two to United States & my ggrandfather, George Hamilton Willis to Australia. We have no photos of Margaret Hamilton & know not which part of Scotland she comes from ie, birth place, birth date or who her parents were.

If anyone could help me to get in touch with the Tait family, I would be most grateful.

I can be contacted by email at:
