Hi Paula,

There is something wrong at genforum as they have not been sending out email notifications for some time. It makes it hard to know if anyone has replied to a post.

You mention your grandfather John WEBB born 1904 but he is not with his mother in 1911 and I cannot find a boy of that name in 1911 census-
could he have gone by another name?

There is a death for a Margaret HOARE born about 1870 died 1960 Surrey South Eastern, Surrey
and another born about 1871 died 1954 Wood Green, Middlesex

a Richard HOARE born about 1854 died 1920 Islington

Peter, age 45, bricklayers lab. born Strow

Ann, age 34, wife, born Ireland

Susan, age 8, daughter, scholar, born Ireland

Simon Peter, age 6, son, born Wilton, Essex

Margaret, age 1, daughter, born Cheltenham

Very strange, but I cannot find any of them after 1871 except for Margaret in 1911 with husband Richard

There is a tree at ancestry that shows mother Ann as Johanna/Ann DALY

In Ireland marriages there is a Peter WEBB married a Johanna DALY in Fermoy in 1861

and at the online site for Gloucestershire BMD in births there is a Margaret WEBB born 1869 Cheltenham, mother's maiden name DALEY

Its odd how the family is not in any census records - I cannot find Peter, Ann, Susan or Simon and cannot find Margaret between 1871 and 1911.

There is a Margaret WEBB in Hornsey, Middlesex in 1891 born about 1869 Cheltenham, Somerset - working as a domestic servant
could be her - as Cheltenham is right

I wonder if her parents took them back to Ireland for a few years and she returned to England - might explain them not being in other census records. has christening of Simon Peter WEBB Nov. 6, 1864 Waltham Abbey, Essex - parents Simon Peter Webb and Joanna

So not really much help to you as to children for Miriam or where she lived and died in Canada - I wonder why she doesn't show up after the passenger list.

at under Ireland marriages I found Peter and Johanna again but this time with their father's names
married Jan. 25, 1861 Fermoy, Cork, Ireland - Peter WEBB and Johanna DALY

Thomas WEBB and Jeremiah DALY
no mother's names given - you'd think mothers had nothing to do
with their kids once they gave birth to them - so many
records don't both with mother's names - awful!
