F/O H. J. GRAY RCAF
Hi,
I am looking for anyone who may be related to this GRAY family, specifically, F/O H. J. Gray of Wilson Ave. N.D.G. Montreal, an RCAF airman in WW II.His nickname was "Dodie".
He is not a relative of mine but was a close friend of my uncle, F/O Gerry E. Geeves, also of Montreal, who lost his life as a member of RCAF 405 Pathfinder Sqdn when he was shot down over Rohrau (near Stuttgart) 02 Jan. 1945.
I came across some pictures of F/O Gray and his family that were published in the Montreal Standard circa 1942-44 and would be happy to share them with family descendants. These pics/article are from a family scrapbook I have.
I know nothing about what squadrons he flew with or even if he survived the war. I do know, however, that he was was involved in the North African Campaign (El Alamein & Tobruk)as an airgunner. His father, H. J. Gray, veteran of WW I appears in the picture along with his mother, sister, Helen, brothers, Donald and Gerald. The article mentions that he had three other brothers (Frank, Wilfred and Ernest) who also served in WW II.
I would be so happy to share this article/pictures.
