I am interested in Surname Fennell that lived in Montreal abt 1840's to 1870'. The brothers were active with the Irish Fenian Movement and one brother was killed on St. Patrick's eve on the streets. Apparently there was a riot in the streets of Montreal that St. Patrick's Day. Not very familiar with Montreal history so if any one has any information or a copy of any news articles regarding this I would appreciate.
The children of the Michael & Ellen Fennell that were born in Montreal were baptised at Basilique Notra Dame. Not sure if this helps.
