Hi Floyd:

On the basis of your guidance: Image 47 of 50 of 1842 at St-Aime (Massueville), I did have a look at the Mormons' microfilm (better condition that the Drouin's digitized version) and there is no Thomas Blanchette. On p. 47, there is an Angele Blanchard. For the year 1842, I have looked at the index and there is no record for a Thomas Blanchet (Blanchette).

Regrettably, there is no provincial registry for births for that period and one has to rely on church registries. Contrary to marriage repertories which has been produced for all the parishes in Quebec, such registries for births and deaths exist for about 10% of the parishes.

Did you mention that the marriage licence did not contain the name of Thomas' parents?

Any more hint for research in Quebec?

Jean-Marie
